GUITAR LINKS
THE LES PAUL FORUM
This is the best place to talk about the legendary Gibson Les Paul and its many incarnations. A very different vibe than the PRS Forum (cussing, swearing and personal attacks are tolerated to a larger degree), but that's part of the charm.
THE FENDER FORUM
This site is huge, and devoted to discussing everything ever produced by Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. Like the PRS and Les Paul forums this is an unofficial site. However, unlike those forums, the Fender Forum has active involvement from Fender people.
THE OTHER FENDER FORUM
The makers of the Les Paul Forum started this forum to discuss Fender musical instruments. It’s smaller than the other one, and more intimate. The community is much tighter and the atmosphere is looser. There is no involvement from Fender (the company), unlike the first Fender Forum, but there are many knowledgeable folks who hang out here and it’s well worth a visit. This is the second site I visit daily, right after the PRS forum.
AMPAGE
A great place for hardcore guitar amp junkies. How hardcore? Do you know what a 6CA7 is? What about an EL34, 5881 or 12AX7? Do you know the true and correct definition of a "class A" amp. Do you own a multimeter? Do you change your own filter caps? If you answered "no" to many of those questions, this site might be too much for you.
PLEXI PALACE
A great place to buy quality, restored vintage tube amps, but their best feature is the vintage amps bulletin board. You can chat about any kind of amp in the world, here, and you don't need to be a super amp-geek to join the discussion.
GUITAR BASE
Guitar Base Guitar Mall is a site that lists the inventory of numerous dealers. Lots of cool stuff for sale. Check it out.
HARMONY-CENTRAL
This site features a great user-review section where you can learn what different people think of different kinds of gear, and you can submit reviews of your own. Other good gear-related info, too.
MOVIE LINKS
ROTTEN TOMATOES
Another cool movie site. At Rotten Tomatoes, they keep track of how many major critics like or dislike certain films, and use that data to come up with an overall "freshness" rating for each film. It's also useful for tracking down all of the major online reviews for each film.
THE IMDB
The Internet Movie Database is the place to go for film information. Look up pretty much any film, actor, director, producer, writer, etc., etc. and get lots of info.
